Editorial note:\u00a0 I told Carrie, my dear wife, that the Moody Blues concert she and I saw at the Ryman Auditorium this past July 2017 was a great one to end it on; The Moodies played their landmark Days of Future Passed in its entirety.\u00a0 Some of you are laughing.<\/h1>\n

The Moody Blues did record one of the shows from this past July with a symphony in Toronto. It is fantastic.\u00a0 Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas did not participate. Next Wednesday morning we will find out if The Moody Blues get voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.<\/h1>\n

I took this photo a couple of weekends ago. \u00a0David Van Winkle and the other great Americans at the Van Winkle Service Center, you should go there, in Ramsey were tending to the oil changing my 1999 Dodge Stratus needed very badly. \u00a0The aforementioned establishment is a primary reason the car is still in as good of shape as it is. \u00a0When I came back around to pick it up, David Van Winkle made a comment that the car just keeps on going. \u00a0 Yes, thanks to him. \u00a0The vehicle has 240,000-plus miles on it. \u00a0It still drives quite well. \u00a0The stereo is great and the gas mileage is acceptable. \u00a0Tunes and miles? \u00a0I drive alone in this car. \u00a0When I am not talking to God or my mother, I crank up The Moody Blues and the others on my iPod as I drive to and from work everyday. \u00a0That would be either 108 miles or 130 mile, depending on whether or not the East Fork of the White River is rolling over Highway 235.<\/p>\n

When I took the picture above I was walking. \u00a0From the Van Winkle Service Center to the parking lot of North Harrison Elementary School (the Whiskey Run Road side), it is 1.25 miles if you take the gravel road on the South side of Hwy. 64 to the East entrance of the school system\u2019s high school. \u00a0This is where I took the picture of the rail road tracks. \u00a0The direction the camera is looking is East.<\/p>\n

If anyone else is scratching their head\u2019s about the sensibility of a school being located on Whiskey Run Road, know you are not alone.<\/p>\n

I walked 5 miles on this day. \u00a0I like to walk. \u00a0It is good exercise for the body and the mind. \u00a0Many of us have occupations that make us process information faster than we can comprehend as we are walking along a lonely gravel road with a cool Western breeze at our backs and, in my case, with ear buds snugly placed so that all the music stays between the ears. \u00a0I listen to slow songs and fast songs\u2026rocking songs and sacred songs\u2026country songs and mostly rock and roll songs. \u00a0I indicated what is on my iPod \u00a0many posts ago.<\/p>\n

The Moody Blues claim the most songs on my iPod. \u00a0That is no shock to anyone who knows me.<\/p>\n

Though I have yet to mention it yet, My dear wife, Carrie, and I \u00a0saw The Moody Blues sing last weekend. \u00a0I know. I know. \u00a0Some of you in the know just wondered aloud, \u201cAgain?\u201d<\/p>\n

Yes, again. \u00a0Another town and another venue. \u00a0This time at Merrillville, Indiana\u2019s \u00a0Star Plaza Theatre.<\/p>\n

The regular camera was not working. \u00a0I took this picture with my antiquated phone. \u00a0This phone does great when you have great light\u2026the railroad tracks pic was taken by the same instrument, as have many other speaktherights.com pictures.<\/p>\n

Maybe this was a good thing. \u00a0Maybe this is a good last shot, just in case this was the final Moody Blues concert we get to see. \u00a0I first saw them in 1986. \u00a0I was 18. \u00a0You do the math.<\/p>\n

I do know the band has a few dates set for 2016. \u00a0You just never know.<\/p>\n

Personally, I hope they hang in until 2017 and do a 50 year anniversary of\u00a0Days of Future Passed\u00a0<\/strong>at London\u2019s Royal Albert Hall. \u00a0That would certainly be recorded. \u00a0Perhaps they could get the other two members from that day, Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas, back in the fray for a one-off performance. \u00a0I am probably dreaming here. \u00a0Pinder last played with the boys in 1974 at San Francisco\u2019s \u201cCow Palace\u201d. \u00a0Thomas retired from the group after 2002.<\/p>\n

Know this\u2026the concert we took in last weekend was one of the best Moodies performances I have ever seen. \u00a0Justin Hayward is still an impeccable guitar player and his voice is a marvel. \u00a0John Lodge still shows off as he is playing the bass and rocks with a purpose. \u00a0Graeme Edge, at 74, can still keep time with the sticks and incite a crowd with his antics. \u00a0I don\u2019t think we could have asked for a better show.<\/p>\n

Maybe I am the one who should walk away.<\/p>\n
